Across South-East Nigeria, August Meeting is an important season for women to reconnect, celebrate their shared heritage and engage on issues affecting their families and communities.
This year, MAGGI joined the celebrations across five states, engaging 19,670 women through 30 women’s associations and five market activations — more than twice the number reached last year.
Beyond the numbers, it was a colourful celebration of the women themselves, with cooking competitions, music, gifts and appearances by women celebrities from the South-East who share a personal connection to the culture and significance of August Meeting. Practical nutrition conversations also explored nutritious choices within household budgets, including the importance of micronutrients such as iron and the role fortified foods can play as part of a varied diet.
