Encomiums and a flurry of praises continue to be poured on newly elevated Assistant Comptroller-General of Customs, Frank Okechukwu Onyeka as he hands the mantle of leadership of the Tin Can Island Port Command, Nigeria Customs Service over to Comptroller Joseph Anani.
Comrade Ayobiojo, the Tin Can Island Port chapter chairman of the Africa Association of Professional Freight Forwarders and Logistics of Nigeria (APFFLON) while speaking with us this morning poured accolades on the performance of ACG Onyeka both as the immediate past Customs Area Controller of the Command and as he gets elevated to the new rank.
He praised the ACG’s commitment to achieving the core mandates of the Nigeria Customs Service, especially his single-minded dedication to the policies of consolidation, collaboration and innovation of the Comptroller-General of Customs. He commended Onyeka’s intelligence driven approach for a large part of the operations and the record revenue generated over time. “What with over ₦1.6 trillion generated in 2025 and ₦401 billion in first quarter of 2026”. He said.
Comrade Ayobiojo is of the opinion that “ACG Onyeka has been tremendous in demonstrating great leadership, maintaining zero tolerance to drugs trafficking at the Port as well as running an open-door policy. He noted ACG Onyeka’s consistent engagement with stakeholders in resolving operational challenges to earn the trust of the trading community. I am sure that he will continue to acquit himself quite creditably well at his future responsibilities.

Speaking about the new helmsman at the Tin Can Island Port Command, Comrade Ayobiojo says that Comptroller Anani being an officer with a long experience at the Command would fill the big shoes left behind by ACG Onyeka.
He welcomes Comptroller Anani with words of encouragement thus ” We know that you are a man that endears himself to the hearts of people, a good manager of men and materials and one with such open mind and ability to learn, we want to take it for granted that you will succeed at this Command. The choice of Comptroller Anani to man this Command is a good one. I wish him well”.
Comrade Ayobiojo also used the opportunity to wish every Muslim faithful and indeed all Nigerians eid-el Mubarak as they celebrate the special occasion.
