The high level counter measures and seizures as direct results of the anti-smuggling efforts of officers and men of the Nigeria Customs Service continue with impressive haul of illicit items of trade by the Oyo/Osun Command.
The Acting head of the Command is Deputy Comptroller of Customs Wale Moses Adewole who had a press briefing on Thursday to detail the results of their most recent efforts. DC Adewole revealed at the briefing that “These efforts have yielded significant results in the interception of prohibited and smuggled goods in line with the provisions of Section 245 of the Nigeria Customs Service Act, 2023”.
These items were seized in the period between the 1st of February to March 26th, 2026.

According to DC Adewole these seizures were made at different locations across Oyo and Osun States through credible intelligence and coordinated patrol operations.
The total Duty Paid Value (DPV) of the seized items amounts to Two Billion, Five Hundred and Thirty-One Million, Ninety-One Thousand, Eight Hundred and Forty-Six Naira Only. (₦2,531,091,846.00)
The Acting CAC also announced that the Command generated a total sum of Fourteen Billion, Seven Hundred and Forty-Five Million, Seven Hundred and Forty-One Thousand, Eight Hundred and Six Naira, Five Kobo (₦14,745,741,806.05K) within the period under review. This achievement, he says “reflects our commitment to blocking revenue leakages, ensuring compliance with extant laws, and facilitating legitimate trade”.
This achievement is quite impressive when compared to same period of last year, 2025 where the Command generated the sum of ₦10.1Billion as against this year’s ₦14.7Billion. The Command was able to make a percentage increase of 46.22%.
DC Adewole used the opportunity to warn smugglers and economic saboteurs that the Oyo/Osun Area Command will not relent in its efforts to curb illegal activities. He noted that the Command is fully committed to enforcing government fiscal policies and protecting the nation’s economy.
The CAC also appeals to members of the public to support the Nigeria Customs Service by providing timely and useful information that will aid their operations. He says that “Compliance with import and export regulations remains the best approach to avoid sanctions”.
DC Adewole affirms that the Command remains resolute in discharging its responsibilities with professionalism, transparency, and integrity. He expresses his appreciation to the Comptroller-General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi and his management team as well as to the government of the two states and the traditional institutions for their supports.
