The Customs Area Controller of the Seme Area Command, Nigeria Customs Service, Comptroller Wale Adenuga has since resumption of office hit the ground running. Comptroller Adenuga who took the mantle of leadership at the Command has steadily and rapidly built on the foundations laid by his predecessors. The recent result of performance of the Command reveals a steady rise in different areas of its core and other mandates.
The Command has reported a remarkable increase in revenue collection under Comptroller Adenuga’s leadership. Information coming from the office of the public relations officer of the Command, Chief Superintendent of Customs, Isah Sulaiman shows the rise.
The monthly revenue, previously hovering between ₦500 million and ₦600 million, jumped to over ₦1.5 billion in September and exceeded ₦2.5 billion in October—representing more than a 300% rise. This surge has been attributed to blocked leakages, strengthened enforcement, and improved facilitation of legitimate trade.
Reaffirming its commitment, the Seme Command has also assured the public of its dedication to professionalism, transparency, and zero tolerance for corruption. It further pledges to sustain efforts in securing Nigeria’s borders, enforcing compliance, and enabling lawful trade along the Lagos–Abidjan corridor.
