The legacy of godliness and dedication to the cause of the human person left behind by the late Abiola Allah’Mako of Ajangbadi Oto Awori Local Council Development Area in Ojo Local Government Area of Lagos State was highlighted at the Ramadan lecture organised on Thursday in his memory by the Allah’Mako Foundation.
In attendance were Imam Muhammad Taofeek Arogundade who was the guest lecturer, Oba Nofiu Odu Owo-Iya, the royal father of the day, the spiritual fathers of the day were Imam Monsurudeen Busari and Imam Mahmud Junaid while Honourable Olabode Makinde was the father of the day, the host of the event was Honourable Abdullahi Kayode Allah’Mako who is contesting for the chairmanship position of the Oto Awori Local Council Development Area and also a son of the late Abiola Allah’Mako.
The programmes of the occasion had readings from the Quran, fidau prayers and lecture which included the admonition to be better citizens. The occasion was used to ask all and sundry to reflect on the thoughts, words and actions of the individual persons as they affect Nigeria and her citizens.
Iman Arogundade also used the veritable opportunity presented by the occasion to urge everyone to remember that there is a place where we shall all end up after the life here on earth and whether one goes to heaven or hell is a function of how we relate with each other and with our God. He urges everyone to strive and be better in thoughts, words and action so that our nation may be better for it.

The late Abiola Allah’Mako was described by a number of persons at the event as a kind forthright and fair thinking person who never considered tribe, race, creed or gender in all his actions. He was also described as a deeply religious man.
In an interview with Imam Arogundade after the lecture, he admonished Nigerians to be more tolerant, fair minded and to act with equity and justice as their watchword. He hopes that with more people who think with all these principles in the political equation in our country, the country will be better for it.
The ocassion was also used to distribute food items such as rice, semovita and milk to the teeming crowd that attended the event as many went home with smiles on their faces.
The host and a son of the late Abiola Allah’Mako, Kayode Allah’Mako in an interview said that “It could be seen from the lecture that my father’s life was used as an example of one who preached and lived contentment. If we all emulate this principle as a people of this nation, embezzlement of public funds will become a thing of the past and the nation will be better for it. The lecturer also advised everyone to be one’s brother’s keeper and to think more of the gift that love is to humanity, that if we imbibe this act of love, there is a sure path to rapid development for our nation”.
On his desire to be the next Oto Awori Local Council Development Area chairman, Mr. Allah’Mako said that “Usually, it is easy to criticise people in government, but practically, you can only know the depth of the river while you are in it. I would want political vendettas everywhere to stop and would rather seek for more infrastructural and human capital development. I know that while we are not yet in that Eldorado, the present leaders are doing their best to see that the people and nation fulfil their potentials. I would want to build on the laid down foundation of my predecessors if and when given the chance to be the chairman”. He concluded.
