The New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), one of the big political parties that won various electoral positions in the last general election has held the inauguration of the Lagos State chapter executive committee members. The event took place, Friday at the NAGAFF Headquarters, Maybin Street, Apapa, Lagos.
It was an opportunity for the various speakers to tell the listening public about the achievements and aspirations of the party. The event was kicked off after the usual protocols as the general secretary of the party, Olaposi Sunday Ogini spoke about the party’s conception, its formation and gradual growth through the years as he credited all these to the party’s founder, Dr. Boniface Okechukwu Aniebonam.
Wale Alaba, the national vice chairman, South West also gave some words advice to the new executive committee members.

The new Lagos State party chairman, Princess Olabisi Teniola Adebowale in her first speech after the swearing in said that “Today history is made as we embark on a new journey towards repositioning our great party, under my watch as chairman as we assume duty to pilot the affairs of the party in the state. Our priority is to secure the political mandate of Lagosians administratively and tap into the potentials of the human and natural resources of the state for the common good of the citizens”.
Her words “Having served in the capacity of woman leader of our party in Lagos, I will deploy my wealth of expenence to bear on the current executives which I head. To whom much is given, they say, much is
expected. We will work assiduously to get things rightly done. We will consult with party stakeholders for critical decision-making”.
“As the 2027 general elections gradually draw close, we present to Lagosians the NNPP party as the only credible and viable political platform available for aspiring leaders to contest for elective positions. Our party ideology stems from justice, equity and fairness for all Nigerians.
Plans are on to hit the ground running for grass-root membership mobilisation so as to register people in our party in Lagos on a mass scale. The transparent and accountability nature of our party inspire
confidence with impetus for Lagosians to join”.
The founder of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Dr. Boniface Okechukwu Aniebonam while speaking at the inauguration first and foremost congratulated all the new members of the executive.
He also spoke lenthily about the problems that the party is having with its 2023 presidential party candidate, Dr. Rabiu Musa Kwakwanso. He said ” I and Dr. Rabiu Musa Kwakwanso are friends and we have no basic issues against each other, but I am the founder of the NNPP, though one cannot wish away the contributions of Dr. Kwakwanso to the party. We can only advise that he toes a more civilised path in all his political activities. It is confusing that someone like Dr. Kwakwanso can go through this process of political self destruction that he is going through now”.
It will be recalled that the NNPP has since immediately after the 2023 general elections been going through one factional issue or the other and that the various gladiators seem not to be interested in sheathing their sword at all.
Dr. Aniebonam continued ” Dr. Kwakwanso has never seen nor touched the NNPP certificate and he has also admitted that there has never been any kind of bargain with him whatsoever. My advice to him is that what makes one a great man is when you realise that you have made a mistake, you should be able to say sorry. Inspite of all, the NNPP does not begrudge Dr. Kwakwanso”.
He told the audience that “what is binding between the NNPP and the Kwankwansiya is the memorandum of understanding which the Abia State High Court judgement has quashed”.
Dr. Aniebonam added that the backbone of the NNPP is from the gateway of the nation’s economy, the maritime sector and that this is why it is sustained and that rumours about some collected monies from some quaters is mere figment of the imagination of some people.
He advises the sworn in executive committee members to put in their best and to note that “all political parties are sister associations which constantly interact and that there should be no fight whatsoever”. Pointedly speaking, Dr. Aniebonam said that “Dr. Rabiu Musa Kwakwanso and Buba Galadima are expelled from the party”
