The Tin Can Island Port Command chapter of the Africa Association of Professional Freight Forwarders and Logistics of Nigeria (APFFLON), Comrade Akeem Ayobiojo has sent out a congratulatory message to the newly decorated Comptroller and Customs Area Controller of the TCIP Command, Frank Onyeka.
Comrade Ayobiojo who spoke with us in a telephone chat Thursday morning recalled the steady rise of Comptroller Onyeka who he described as “focused, intelligent and a go-getter who also combines his knowledge, experience and interpersonal skills to make good acheivements”. He noted that from Comptroller Onyeka’s days as the valuation officer at the Tin Can Island Port Command, that his knowledge and performance on the job have helped him move steadily up as a thorough professional. He called on the CAC to work closely with stakeholders for greater collaboration as he is known to operate an open door policy.

It would be recalled that on the 20th of December 2024, the then newly promoted Assistant Comptroller-General of Customs, Dera Nnadi handed over the reins of power to Comptroller Frank Onyeka, they were decorated at the Customs Headquarters with other promoted officers on Wednesday.
Stakeholders generally perceive Comptroller Onyeka’s appointment as the Customs Area Controller of the TCIP Command as a round peg in a round hole and this can be justifiably credited to his performances at the last three places where he served.
He left the TCIP Command as a valuation officer to the Onne Command in Rivers State where he was the first to win the CAC ‘s officer of the month award under the then CAC Imam Baba. He was later moved to the premier Poɍt Command at Apapa as the officer-in-charge, gate and also brought his wealth of experience to bear on the job as records were set by the Apapa Command. Comptroller Onyeka in his maiden interview with the press after the mantle of leadership was handed over to him promised to operate an open door police with a view to facilitating legitimate trade.
Comrade Ayobiojo also used the occasion of the chat to wish Comptroller Onyeka a very successful tenure while exuming confidence that the CAC will perform as he is always known to do.
