The exceptional career of Rasheed Agbolade Adahunse, the last Commandant of the Customs College Kano came to an end recently and friends and well wishers on Sunday, the 12th of November gathered to celebrate the man and also used the opportunity to mark his 60th birthday. The event took place at the Blessings Hall of the Eko Club, Surulere, Lagos. It was a pretty grand event that started with a touch of religious activities as a muslim cleric and his entourage conducted a prayer session.
Comptroller Adahunse was born on the 23rd of October 1963 at the Lagos Island maternity and into the family of Ganiyu Afolabi Adahunse of Ijebu Isiwo, Ogun State. He attended the Ansarul-deen Primary School, Okepopo, Lagos in 1969 and later proceeded to Ansarul-deen High School Ijebu Isiwo between 1976 and 1981. Between 1982 and 1988, he obtained his Ordinary National Diploma and the Higher National Diploma from the then Lagos State Polytechnic.

On the 27th of November 1989, he enlisted into the Nigeria Customs Service after having completed the mandatory one-year National Youth Service Corps.
He later obtained a Post Graduate Diploma in Management and a Masters Degree in Business Administration from the University of Calabar in 2002 and 2005 and also attended numerous Courses and Conferences sponsored by the Nigeria Customs Service.

His glittering carreer saw him serve at different Departments, Units and Commands of the Nigeria Customs Service among which are the Seme Area Command; Enforcement, Investigation and Inspection Department; Ogun 1 Area Command, Idiroko; Oyo/Osun Command; Federal Operations Unit, Minna; Sokoto/Kebbbi/Zamfara Command; Cross River/Akwa Ibom Command; Apapa Area Command; Imo/Abia Area Command; Murtala Mohammed International Airport Command Ikeja; Federal Operations Unit, Zone ‘A’ Ikeja; Deputy Comptroller, Enforcement, Seme Command; Deputy Comptroller, Gate Control PH Area 1 Command; Comptroller Administration, Zonal Headquarters, PH and his last appointment was as the Commandant, Customs Training College, Dogon Dutse, Kano.
He is happily married with two wives, Sherifat Adejoke Adahunse and Waka Music Queen, Salawatu Ibiwunmi Abeni and many children.
At the celebration were a lot of serving and retired Customs officers with Deputy Comptroller General of Customs from the Service headquarters, Festus Oyedele Okun at the occasion with his family.
