​In a milestone transition at the Nigerian Shippers’ Council (NSC), the outgoing Head of the Complaints Unit, Dr. Ambi, has officially handed over the mantle of leadership to his successor, Dr. (Mrs.) Obiageli Juliana Saka.

​The brief yet emotional handover ceremony took place on Friday, June 26, 2026, marking the end of Dr. Ambi’s meritorious service as he enters retirement.

​A Legacy of Fiscal Impact

​Reflecting on his tenure, which began on June 11, 2024, Dr. Ambi expressed profound gratitude to God and the Council’s leadership for the opportunity to serve. He revealed that under his stewardship, the Complaints Unit achieved a monumental milestone by saving ₦4.8 billion for the Nigerian economy.

​”I am proud to hand over a clean slate and a robust foundation,” Dr. Ambi stated. “We have built on the legacy I inherited two years ago. I am fully confident that my successor will build on this trajectory, elevate the unit, and establish it further as a benchmark of excellence within the Council.”

​Seamless Transition of Power

​Presenting the official handover note on behalf of the Executive Secretary and CEO of the NSC, Dr. Akutah Pius Ukeyima, Esq., MON, FCILT, Dr. Ambi outlined the comprehensive operational frameworks prepared to ensure continuity.

​ The transition documents include :

– ​Detailed operational appendices and performance metrics since Q3 2024.

– ​The unit’s Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and schedules of duty.

– ​A comprehensive registry of files, asset inventories, and ongoing assignments.

​Dr. Ambi charged the incoming chief to bring fresh perspectives to the role. “I look forward to seeing you add immense value and elevate the Complaints Unit so that it remains a primary point of reference,” he said.

​Witnessing the transition, colleagues and staffers described Dr. Ambi’s departure as “an iconic exit,” praising his integrity, leadership, and the high standards he maintained throughout his tenure.
