EQUIP YOURSELF WITH OPERATIONAL KNOWLEDGE OF NSW, COLE URGES ALL STAKEHOLDERS

Calls by some stakeholders to others to equip themselves with the requisite knowledge of the essence and operations of the soon-to-be-inaugurated National Single Window Project has continued to ring out loud.
The latest call is coming from the chairman of the Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA), Tin Can Island Port chapter, Prince Mathew Olawale Cole.
Prince Cole had called on all stakeholders to equip themselves with the proper knowledge of how to navigate the automated platform while engaging in the goods clearing proceases. He made the call at the steps of the Rockview hotel, Tuesday after the training of stakeholders on the use of the platform.
The National Single Window project is a Federal Government initiative to streamline trade processes by creating a centralised electronic platform for importers and exporters. It is a digital trade facilitation platform expected to accelerate economic growth and facilitate cross- border transactions.

The deployment of the platform according to government sources starts on the 27th day of March and the platform is expected to help expedite the clearing processes, reduce costs and also block revenue leakages within the system.
Chairman Cole said “innovation and technological advancements are essential to seamless operations within the Maritime sector if we are to attain the desired level of development as a nation. The dictum, ‘innovate or go into extinction’ is very relevant in our particular reality and it is very important that we engage in dynamic protocols”.
His words ” I encourage every stakeholder in the industry to take advantage of the opportunities presented by trainings such as the one that happened here today to acquaint themselves with the rudiments of navigating the the platform. This is so that the desired seamless operation can be attained” He concluded
